Begin your adventure at Shimbashi station. Meet your photographer guide and head to the Shiodome business district where you will photograph steel and glass towers by the morning light.
Here we will work on composition skills—how to frame a scene. We will also learn how to craft a story in our photos by using the environment and the people within.
From Shiodome we will walk through Ginza, exploring the tiny back alleys and hidden pockets peppered throughout the area. During the day, we will encounter cooks and wait staff, as well as salarymen, going about their daily work.
Eventually, we will arrive at Yurakucho where we will photo the interior of the immense Tokyo International Forum. Here we will find numerous photographic challenges which will allow you to create dramatic images.
Start your adventure just before sunset to take advantage of the light conditions known as “golden hour.” Meet your guide at Shimbashi station and get acquainted with the necessary photography techniques for this adventure.
We will head into the Shiodome business district where we will photography the glass skyscrapers and concrete jungle by the setting sun.
Next we head to Shimbashi, an area known for its bars and smoky grill-houses. We will explore its streets and back alleys to find hidden shrines and narratives. Here we will learn how to create fascinating and artistic images in the Tokyo metropolis.
Finally, we head to Yurakucho where we will find a hidden underbelly filled with neon lights and lanterns under the elevated train tracks. We will capture life in the untidy and colorful passages and smoke-filled alleys.
Our adventure will end with the impressive architecture of the Tokyo International Forum and a splendid aerial view of Tokyo Station.
