Photographing Tokyo while flying over the city in a helicopter
What’s the Story?
Take flight in a chopper and witness the Tokyo metropolis from high above the city. Feel the speech and agility of the machine as it carries you—and your poised camera—over one of the largest urban conglomerates in the world.
What We’ll Shoot
We will teach you how to set your camera to ensure the best possible photos while in the air. Helicopters are somewhat shaky rides and therefore requires specific camera settings. The flight is also quite short, so being well prepared in terms of skill is crucial. You will be coached on all the necessary techniques in order to ensure fantastic photos from an unforgettable experience.
Where We’ll Explore
We will meet at Shimbashi station. From there we will head to Ginza to a viewing point where we can work on camera settings and shooting techniques. After that, we’ll head to the Tokyo Heliport located in Shinkiba. The helicopter flights itself is approximately 20 minutes long. Once back on the ground, we will help you get back to a convenient location of your choice.
I love flying in helicopters and while this flight felt short, it gave me the opportunity to photograph Tokyo from above. The light was not optimal, i.e., a challenge, but if you have never done a chopper flight, I can highly recommend it. The tour was very well organized and I am sure that booking a chopper in Tokyo would have been close to impossible with the assistant of EYExplore.
