Who I am
Originally from Australia, I have lived in Japan on and off over the last 15 years. I studied marketing and have worked in local government. I have done food, product, and event photography. But I most enjoy helping people see the impact that good pictures can have on others and how it can be much more effective in its purpose. I came to this realization when photographing lost animals: that good photos helped people find their lost pets. This drove me to become a photographer.
What I do at EYExplore
I conduct workshops in Tokyo, make spelling errors while managing the social media pages, and provide light entertainment with creative marketing plans.
Where I explore
There is something very alluring about looking at a scene and being able to capture it in a single frame so that others can understand your vision. Anyone can take a photo, but it is an ever-evolving experience to take better-and-better photos, to challenge yourself!
Why I love photography
I am really open to where I photograph. I like to try to photograph areas others would overlook because these places are interesting to people who haven't been there. Photography motivates me to go the long way just to see what's there and if there is something worth capturing... and inevitably there is.
