We’ve introduced the Omakase Street Photo Adventure! ‘Omakase’ is a Japanese word that means ‘to entrust’ someone with something. It’s usually used in fancy sushi restaurants when you just want the chef to surprise you. After years of leading our photo adventures around Tokyo I find that the most exciting sessions happen when we go completely off course. Every once in a while, we get a client who has taken all of our usual workshops, but they still want more. They essentially say to us, “surprise me!” Then we have to come up with something ‘omakase’ and usually it turns out awesome!
So, we would like to formalize this hidden option into the Tokyo Omakase Street Photo Adventure. It’s different from our Bespoke Photo Adventure in one crucial way: the bespoke session is customized to your specific requests (we often get a request to ‘remix’ our other workshops into a bespoke session) but the omakase adventure is completely up to the chef, err… photographer you are with.
I (Lukasz here) have to admit that I have a personal motivation for coming up with this tour concept. I have lots of ideas for places to go that either I’ve never been to or have visited only a handful of times, but I know they have potential. However, as I’m often busy with leading workshops I rarely get a chance to explore new places on my own. Now we can do that together on the Omakase Street Adventure.
So, if you are a returning customer who has done all our workshops already, or you simply like to be surprised and try new things, then this is the photography workshop for you! Let’s dive into the less-traveled realms of Tokyo!
