One of our resident photo instructors is Lee Chapman. A Tokyo resident for over 20 years, he has amassed a wealth of experience exploring some of the older parts of Tokyo—areas less-traveled even by your average Tokyoite. Over the years, he has met many of the elderly residents that populate these forgotten neighborhoods, photographing them and documenting their gradual disappearance from the urban landscape. As people and homes vanish one by one, they remain only in Lee’s photographs.
To share these places with visitors, Lee has been running the Tokyo Old Town photography workshop for EYExplore. This workshop is also featured in the Tokyo leg of our upcoming Japan Photography Workshop. Join Lee and Lukasz on an excursion to Tokyo’s old town in a recent video on the EYExplore YouTube channel
