Street Photography & Zone Focus

Street Photography & Zone Focus — EYExplore

In this video we explain how to do ‘zone focus’ especially in the context of street photography. In some ways, manual focus can be faster than even the fastest auto-focus. That’s because once the ‘zone’ is set, there is no need to focus anymore, meaning you spend zero time on focusing. This is a great technique for street photography because speed is very important in many cases. It is also an easier and more reliable way to use manual focus lenses. Try it out!

You can also read about this topic in more depth in a blog post about Manual Focus. And if you’d like to learn this technique on one of our workshops, the best ones are Streets of Tokyo and Tokyo Cyberpunk Streets.
